Osage Indian Symbols
World Peace Jewelry: Symbols of the Osage Indians
Since we moved to the Missouri Ozarks, we've been fascinated to learn about this region's first known inhabitants, Native Americans known as the Osage.
The Osage believed they were the special people from the stars. Grandfather Sun had sent them to the Ozark land to care for it and bring order. This was his favorite land. So the Star People made sure things stayed in their order and man did not ruin it by waste. They recognized the place of each thing on earth and were careful to do nothing to change nature's ways.
